It's been two weeks since I installed my Protective Style and I have to tell you, I am tired! I miss my hair😭😭😭 Who knew it will be this hard? I was busy blabbing to my stylist how I'll wear this style for 8 weeks but 2 weeks already feels like forever...

This is a reminder for people like me, who are already tired of having one look! Two more weeks and you will get a new protective style, Don't give up!


Back to the reason for this post! I have started patting my hair left right and center, that itchiness has started coming down to earth slowly and we all know what that means! I can't deal with my scalp itching and I don't want to have injuries on my scalp hence I decided to wash my hair.

Here's a detailed report on how to wash your hair while wearing a protective style.

What you'll need,
-Spray bottle
-Black soap shampoo (Dudu Osun)
-Conditioner
-ACV

Black Soap Shampoo

Fill your spray bottle with your preferred shampoo and dilute with a little  water ( i.e. If you're not using the black soap shampoo). The point of diluting the shampoo is to enable it pass through the nozzle of your spray bottle. Spritz only your scalp massaging gently as you go, rinse off and follow with your favorite conditioner.

Inside another spray bottle, dilute the conditioner with a little water like you did with the shampoo and spritz your scalp. You can leave it on for a while if you want , I didn't do that, I rinsed off and followed immediately with ACV rinse. I didn't have the time 🙄

Diluted Conditioner

In another spray bottle, dilute your ACV with water and spritz only your scalp. Rinse after 5 mins and allow to air dry. You can skip this part if you want but I have to tell you this is a necessary step that balances your pH level and also keeps dandruff away.  Follow with your leave-in Conditioner and oil to lock and seal in moisture.

If you don't have 3 spray bottles lying around you can always reuse the bottle after each step. The reason for the spray bottle is to enable you get the shampoo, conditioner and ACV directly on your scalp, remember that's where the itchiness is coming from and not the braids.
