Tapered Cut On Natural Hair

Update... I cut my hair on 16th March 2018
If you’re a follower on my social media I’m sure you’re not surprised. Truth be told I’ve been wanting to get a tapered cut since 2015. I actually cut my hair then myself but I didn’t really cut it this low. The fear of what and who I would look like wouldn’t let me attain greatness.
Fast forward to 2016 I got a little cut again but still not to my taste. I kept on saying Chisom you’ll look like a kid so don’t cut it shorter.
2017 I got another cut before coloring my hair and it was still quite long. 3 years later that feeling of getting a tapered cut never went away and I decided to finally do it.
While I was at work on a Friday, I saw of picture of Yintare (she’s a naturalista as well) sporting a low cut. I was shocked and proceeded to ask her why she cut it, there was something she said to me that day that stuck, she said and i quote “it’s just hair and we have a lifetime to grow it back”. That my brethren was the push I needed.
I came back from work picked up a pair of scissors and chop chop chop. It still wasn’t low enough so I went to a barbing salon the next morning and bye bye long hair, hello tapered cut.
One thing I’ve noticed in the natural hair community is that we obsess so much about length. I always say this to people, enjoy every stage of your hair because once you pass that stage the only way to go back is by chopping it off.
