PRODUCT REVIEW: AFRO BY NATURE
Saturday, June 09, 2018Afro by nature is a Nigerian brand i tried recently. As always i'm bringing you my honest opinion about it so keep reading.
I bought the medium size which includes a shampoo, conditioner, growth oil and hair butter for 6500 in a mix and match sale while the curl maker was won in a giveaway on instagram. Now that I've established the fact that i bought it with my money and got one product for free, lets dive right into it.
MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO
Size: 250ml
Product Claims:
It works to remove dirt without
stripping hair of its natural oil and it also works to eliminate dandruff and
itchy scalp issues.
Ingredients:
Liquid black soap infused with
rosemary essential oil and rose water.
Thoughts:
This shampoo left my hair clean and it lathers really well. I followed the directions by diluting it with water and it cleansed my hair without stripping it of moisture. It smells like a typical black soap. A little goes a long way with this product because its very concentrated so if you don't dilute it with water, one pump will be enough to wash your hair clean.
2 in 1 BANANA MILK CONDITIONER
Size: 250ml
Product Claims:
This pure natural based conditioner made with ayurvedia herbs and fruit extract helps to add slip and shine for exceptional conditioning to aid your detangling process, leaving your hair smooth, soft and more manageable to handle.
Ingredients:
Purified water, phyllanthus
emblica fruit extract, banana fruit extract, marshmallow root extract, honey
quat, organic unrefined castor oil, avocado butter, coco butter, gooseberry oil,
cetyl, coconut milk, Dl panthenol, silk amino acid, vitamin E, aromathic oil
blend, optiphen.
Thoughts:
This
conditioner smells so good. I diluted it with water and used as a leave in and i am in love. I also
used it as a deep conditioner without adding eggs and honey and it left my hair
soft and detangled. y'all need to step out and buy this like right now. It has a creamy consistency
HI DEFINITION CURL MAKER
Size: 250ml
Product Claims:
This curl enhancing gel works
to give natural hair an immediate springy spiral coil that is almost unbelievable.
Achievable hair styles include: single coils, twist out, braid out, perm rod
set, straw coils, bantu knot out and any other form of curly related hair
styles.
Ingredients:
Aloe vera gel, marshmallow root
extract, flax seed gel, slippery elm, coconut water, extra virgin coconut oil,
optiphen .
Thoughts:
This product defined my curls to perfection. This right here is my
new holy grail. It has the same smell
with the conditioner which I obviously love. It has a gel-like but runny consistency. It dries out clear and leaves no residue on your hair. Please forgive me for not taking pictures but i will be sure to post a picture on my instagram when next i use it
HAIR REGROW EDGE AND SCALP OIL
Size 100ml
Product Claims: Stimulate hair growth, eliminate dry itchy scalp, eliminate dandruff. it works to deposit hair feeding nutrients on the scalp to stimulate hair growth
Ingredients: 100% premium unadulterated natural, chemical free hair grow back castor oil infused with essential oils, herbs, hair growth stimulants and B vitamins
Thoughts: This is a very thick oil. It smells like palm kernel oil. I haven't used it for long to determine if it aids in hair growth but i'll keep using it and come back with a review after some weeks.
HAIR BUTTER
Size: 250ml
Product Claims: It works as a sealant
Ingredients: Shea butter, coco butter, mango butter, avocado butter, rosemary essential oil, vanilla bean oil
Thoughts: I love this butter, it smells amaze-balls, and it does exactly what it says on the bottle, leaves my hair soft too. It also has a creamy consistency like the 2-in-one banana leave in conditioner
Overall this is a brand i'll be using. I love that the products are sulfate free natural products and they kept the ingredients to a minimum. It contains optiphen which is a paraben and formaldehyde free preservative. I love the packaging, although i wish they included a pump in the conditioner.
You really can't break the bank with these products because they are very affordable. My favorites would be the 2 in 1 leave in conditioner, the high definition curl maker and the hair butter. A little goes a long way with these products which means they would definitely last for a long period of time.
